About Callejear.at

Callejear.at is a data-driven street directory for Austria. We map 122 818 indexable streets across 2 125 municipalities, rating each one on walkability, public-transport access, local amenities, green space, and centrality.

What you get on every street page

A composite Straßen-Score (Street Score) from 0 to 100, broken down into five weighted dimensions: walkability (30%), public transport (25%), local amenities (20%), green space (15%), centrality (10%). Plus nearby shops, schools, pharmacies and transit stops within 500 metres, real-estate prices, and demographic context for the surrounding municipality.

Why German-only content

Every page is in Austrian German (de-AT) because that is how people search for streets in Austria. Translating 125,000 pages mechanically would lower quality without adding value. If you are new to Austria, use the glossary tooltips on every score — hover on "Walkability" or "ÖPNV" to see an English one-liner.

Our sources

• OpenStreetMap — street geometry, points of interest, public-transport stops, infrastructure tags (cycleways, sidewalks, lighting).
• Statistik Austria — municipal population, income, employment, age distribution.
• WKO Immobilienpreisspiegel — real-estate sale and rental prices (state-level averages).
• GTFS feeds — ÖBB, Wiener Linien and regional operators for route data.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell listings, we do not accept paid placements, and we do not rank streets for commercial reasons. The scoring methodology is fully documented.
